As 2015 kicks into full gear, many brands are shaking things up with new staff appointments. Here’s the rundown on the new kids on the block in the professional beauty industry this year…
Scotty’s Make-up & Beauty has hired two new makeup consultants at its Fitzroy store in Melbourne. Newbies Hayley Isard and Sarah Simic’s addition to the team comes as the brand launches a new-look website, including several features to make use easier than ever, including a product filter bar and stockists page.
Petra Bergman has stepped up in Cosmax as PR manager across all three pillars of be Guerlain – skincare, beauty and fragrance – while Dermalogica has also welcomed a new addition to its PR team, with industry stalwart Lauren Platt-Hepworth stepping in as the new PR Manager.
This is the first time that PR will be managed in house at Dermalogica, after a long-standing relationship with Elise Garland Public Relations.
“With our 20 year anniversary this year and a launch of a new global initiative we felt now was the right time to have someone solely dedicated to growing our brand,” says Dermalogica Australia marketing manager, Julia Ramandhan.
La Biosthetique has recently appointed Sarah Hiscock as skincare and makeup educator. Hiscock has been working as beauty therapist for 9 years and educating in beauty therapy since 2010 between Australia, New Zealand and the U.K.
Distributors of dermaviduals and the derma CIT Pen, derma aesthetics, have welcomed two new staff members to their expanding Australian and New Zealand team this month.
Yvette van Lier joined the administration department in the Australian head office as office coordinator, while Danielle Beyleveld joined as business development manager – a position which will see Beyleved based in New Zealand.
Beyleved brings with her a wealth of knowledge after completing her two-year aesthetics diploma and running a successful clinic in South Africa until 2005 when she relocated to New Zealand. More recently, Danielle was account manager for Arrow Beauty where she managed over 600 accounts.
“I am very excited to have Danielle as part of our derma aesthetics team. She is a very talented business development manager and I’m confident she’ll do a fantastic job looking after existing and potential dermaviduals partners across New Zealand,” says co-managing director, Simone Vescio.
Due to extended brand growth of their company’s husband and wife team, Solaire’s CEO, Adam Taylor, along with Mediterranean Tan’s CEO, Andrea Taylor, have called on another family member to take their business into a new realm of efficiency.
Andrea’s brother Rodney Guy has joined the team to manage the increasingly busy warehouse of both Solaire and Mediterranean Tan.
The appointment comes as Solaire and Mediterranean Tan launch a new fully automatic system to speed up online order turnaround times.
“With his expert warehouse management and logistics skills we will be able to run much more efficiently as we transition to a fully automatic system,” says Andrea.
Meanwhile, Caronlab Australia has welcomed back Marita Rath to the team as sales and customer service officer, while OPI’s Karon McKendrick-Taylor has joined the team at FABY Nail Lacquer.
“My future career as a professional educator is best served working with a forward thinking, innovative and progressive nail brand,” says McKendrick-Taylor.
Australian all-natural cosmetics brand, Inika has appointed esteemed beauty professional, Alicia Bradshaw, as brand manager. With over 15 years’ experience in the beauty industry, Bradshaw brings a dynamic new vision to the future and further development of the brand for 2015 and beyond as it continues its strategic growth both locally and internationally.
“I am passionate about organic and natural health from an ethical perspective, and Inika represents these standards perfectly. I respect the philosophy, quality of ingredients and the choice they give to women looking for style, and am truly excited to be part of the team taking Inika to the next level,” says Bradshaw.
Bradshaw’s appointment coincides with Inika’s expansion of its Australian retail presence, with the brand re-launching its counters at all Myer capital city stores.
Finally, salon skincare brand Inskin Cosmedics recently announced the appointment of tech-guru, Cassandra Cocciolone as digital and social media manager.
Armed with four years’ experience with the brand, a Bachelor of Marketing degree and a passion for all things digital, Inskin marketing and communications manager Steve Plakotaris says Cocciolone was the company’s first choice for the newly created role.
“Knowing the Inskin business inside and out and her unique understanding of marketing, graphic design and digital media made creating the role for Cassandra a no brainer. We want to be intimately connected to our stockist partners in new and exciting ways now and into the future. We definitely have the right person. Watch this space.”
